You, my amazing e-friends, helped to make my birthday wish a reality!! Pygmy marmoset won the vote and is the newest animal in the Berkley menagerie . Doesn't he look dapper? I really love his lapel button ☺
I cannot believe it is June already. Wow, time really flies fast once the weather gets nice. We have had a lot of rain...a LOT.... and so I have been dealing with leaking-issues in my basement for the first time. Consequently, I am in currently taking a quick break from carpet shampooing. So many projects to do, so little time. I feel bad about neglecting the blog last week, but I have a feeling many of you all are in the same situation that I am!
Last week, we decided to do a mini-getaway and go down to St. Louis with the girls. We did Chuck E. Cheese, The Mills mall, and the zoo. The most AMAZING thing was feeding the sting rays, which is a new exhibit called Caribbean Cove. I highly recommend doing this if you never have:

I loved the St. Louis zoo as a kid, but they have taken out so many things that I remember that now I am disappointed when I go.
I remember Phil the gorilla standing just inside 1 of the buildings, but he was gone once when we went back after I got married. Found out last year that they moved him to another area - so I tried stopping to see him. He had been moved into a non-public area - so wouldn't let you in there. The bronze statue just isn't the same!
I also remember a clock that was on a hill & the numbers were plants. I've been told it was actually part of the Botanical Gardens, but it also was removed!
I also remember Myna birds in circular cages out in the open where you could just walk up to it & see it from all sides.
Of course, I don't miss the part where my mom said a tiger or lion tried to attach men when I was a toddler though!

Cindy, the only gorilla I know is the bronze statue ☺ We usually try to get down there at least once a summer. We had planned on going to the aquarium at the City Museum, but it was going to cost us $18 each! We went shopping instead ;-)
Believe it or not, I have NOT bought the print yet! I am hoping they will put the original up for sale...and since I have been pining for the marmoset for so long and all of my friends voted for it, it would be really meaning to have the original.

In the Mall of America in MN there was an aquarium exhibit thing, back in 2003; we petted sharks. It's a really neat thing for the children to experience these creatures as they would not normally encounter them daily! Boy I went to the St. Louis zoo when I was little, the one thing I remember was that there were these machines that you put coins in, then in would make a plastic gorilla, I thought that was pretty cool!
OK the real reason I'm blogging, is Luv, have you heard of "The Farm Chicks"? Well they are these two momma's from the Spokane area of WA who are antiquers and bake/cook, they are featured in Country Living magazine, and have this huge antiques show the first weekend in June-- now not being much of a collector, I think I would really enjoy there event. Well they have a new cook book (and a web site too), right now I'm baking their recipe for Big and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies. The children are loving them!!!

I came to your blog through Mamma Has Spoken. Funny because I just did a post about the stingrays and being able to touch them at the Aquarium in GA. What an amazing thing to be able to do. We are going on holidays and are going to try to get some time to visit the Aquarium in VA in hopes of doing it again.
